My great-grandfather, Henry Graham, showed up in Jamaica in the mid 1800s as the agent for the Anglican Missionary Society. His wife was named Eliza. He named his sons Heron Graham and lived at a place called Herondale. But I found no Heron connection.

I cannot find his birth record in Jamaica, only his burial at the Anglican church in Point Hill. I am told he was Scottish but don't know where in Scotland he might have come from. His wife's maiden name is never mentioned but she is also buried at the Point Hill church. He died April 3, 1876 in Jamaica. Eliza died 1887 also in Jamaica.
Some long-dead Grahams said we "come from sheep thieves" but claim a connection with the Grahams of Claverhouse. My father said we have a gypsy ancestor and her name was Salomon.
I can find no birth record in Jamaica for Eliza Heron or Eliza Salomon in that time period and I can find no marriage record for Henry (probably in 1851).
